Readers Edition: From your desk to the dance floor!

Lisa's Pieces just received an email from a reader asking the following:
"I desperately need some new things for work... and not really sure where to start. and I KNOW you will find some great things!!!"
First of all, there's nothing more annoying (in my opinion) than buying clothes that you can only wear to the office. I love to find pieces that are versatile in which you can wear outside the workplace and that can easily transition into the weekend.

So how do you begin building this all-purpose wardrobe?

Well, every wardrobe needs it's "staple pieces"; these are pieces that can be worn different ways, for different occasions, and don't go out of style the next season. So in transitioning a working wardrobe into a weekend wardrobe, the first staple piece you need is a great pair of skinny or straight leg slacks. Skinny or straight leg trousers can be worn with a comfy flat for the office or dressed up with a sexy heel for the weekend. This pant it so versatile, you can also wear it with a great boot! For the summer months, try a cropped skinny pant...and if you're over black; try a patterned pant or a pant in a brighter colour like this seasons red, blue, or even yellow!

The second staple in your wardrobe should definitley be a blazer. A good blazer can be worn to work with almost any pant or blouse underneath. The great thing about a blazer is that you can even wear it with a plain old t-shirt and a pair of jeans on the weekend and still manage to look like a million bucks!

The third staple piece for the office/weekend, should definitely be a Black Dress. Black dresses very rarely go out of style. While working at the office, try wearing black stockings with your dress as it tones it down and makes it more professional looking; but when hitting the dance floor on the weekend, either lose the stockings or look for a pair with a fun pattern on them...try this seasons polka-dot pattern! You might also want to spice up your black dress by layering necklaces or wearing big beautiful statement earrings!

And for the trendy working girl...
These staple pieces are a great starting point in building your office/weekend wardrobe. Building off of these pieces will always produce different outfits that will never leave you without something to wear.

I hope these pieces inspire you in building your own all-purpose wardrobe!
